Join us for a vibrant celebration of photography, art, and creativity as Snap and Chat Connect hosts a special Photography Takeover Day at Derby Market Hall.

The event will bring together photographers, artists, creatives, and community groups from across Derby and beyond, showcasing a diverse range of photographic work, artwork, prints, and handmade products available to view and purchase throughout the day.

We are delighted to welcome the team from W. W. Winter Heritage Trust, who will be displaying fascinating images and information celebrating Derby’s rich photographic history. Representatives from London Camera Exchange will also be attending to support the event.

Visitors will have the opportunity to take part in a range of free taster sessions delivered by local artists and creatives, providing an introduction to some of the art and craft workshops available through Snap and Chat Connect.

A dedicated photography studio will be set up within the Market Hall, complete with volunteer models, giving photographers of all abilities the chance to practice portrait photography and develop their skills in a supportive environment.

Throughout the day there will be live music, a DJ set, creative demonstrations, entertainment, and opportunities to meet fellow photographers, artists, and community organisations.
Whether you’re an experienced photographer, a budding creative, or simply curious to discover more about Derby’s thriving arts community, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

There will be exhibitions from our Wednesday group meetings and some of our attendees will be there for people to talk to about what their experiences have been during our group sessions.
