New wave of traders arriving at Derby Market Hall

Dan Sweeney from Vintage and Vinyl

The latest batch of traders offer everything from boutique children’s clothing and original art and gifts to vintage finds. New services include beauty treatments, specialist gift wrapping, and bespoke tailoring, while the newest eatery will offer traditional comfort food.

Two stalls are already open for business: Vintage & Vinyl and The Paint Kettle, with others set to open their doors very soon.

Vintage & Vinyl is more than just a market stall—it's a treasure trove of all things retro, rare, and wonderful. Whether you're a seasoned collector, a vinyl enthusiast, or simply looking for a one-of-a-kind gift, stop by and explore a curated collection that spans decades of history and culture. Located upstairs in the Market Hall, the emporium features an extensive selection of music, collectibles, homeware and vintage clothing and accessories. Owner Dan has been in business for eight years, following a 27-year career with Rolls Royce. He started as a pop-up trader before running Belper Antiques Centre and Record Store for six years, featuring on TV’s Antiques Road Trip!

The Paint Kettle sell original artwork and gifts.

The Paint Kettle have extended their stay at Derby Market Hall for another two months, following a successful period as a pop-up stall since the reopening in May. Artist and owner Tom turned his hobby into a business after retiring from his day job. His hobby of painting started to grow into something more and he started selling his art. He sells his artwork, alongside gifts featuring his designs, and also stocks his daughter's creations. Many of The Paint Kettle’s artworks feature local scenes and products are influenced by Derby and the surrounding area.

I’m excited to bring traditional British food to the Market Hall. Having already worked here with another trader, I know it’s an amazing space to work in – the atmosphere is great.

The Grade-II listed Derby Market Hall reopened in May after a £35.1 million restoration, creating a vibrant hub that brings together the region’s best independent shops, eateries, bars, and entertainment, all under one beautiful roof.
