Live music and dance for Derby Folk Festival Fringe
Until Sun 12 Oct 2025
Derby Market Hall
About the Event
Join us for live music and dance at Derby Market Hall, as part of Derby Folk Festival Fringe.
Derby Folk Festival brightens the city centre each October, bringing fantastic artists from the broad world of folk music right into the heart of the city.
Alongside the ticketed elements, there’s an expanded free “fringe” programme, allowing people to access different parts of the festival with no entry fees.
As part of that, there’s music and dance in Derby Market Hall through Saturday and Sunday – bringing a showcase of performances indoors… and it’s all free.
Saturday will have dance displays, music performances, and even a ceilidh – lots happening from 12 noon until 9pm. Sunday will see dance displays from 10am to 3pm

For families, throughout the weekend FOLK3D are hosting flyer flower making workshops for you to create beautiful flowers from recycled flyers.
The full programme for the free events across the city is available at the Derby Folk Festival website with more being added and updated right up to the festival.
